Are you sleeping on the wrong pillow? If you’re tossing and turning every night or just not getting the restful sleep you need, it’s time to make a change. Don’t worry! I have some tips for finding just what will help ensure a good night’s rest…
There are many factors that go into picking the perfect pillow for your needs—including how often you sleep on it. Let’s discuss.
Pillow materials matter.
The two most important factors in choosing the right pillow are comfort and price. The best sleeping position depends on what you sleep on, but if you’re going to be spending eight hours of your life sleeping, it should be as comfortable as possible.
If you’re not sure where to start, cotton pillows are a popular option for their softness and breathability. If you have allergies or asthma, however, synthetic materials such as polyester or foam might be better for you. There are also some natural materials like down or buckwheat that can help keep your head cool at night without causing any irritation or discomfort.
When was the last time you changed your pillow?
How often should you change your pillow? It depends on the quality of the materials and how often you use it. If it’s dirty, you’re going to want to wash it every week. If your pillow is really old and has stains from months ago, then maybe it’s time for a new one. But if it’s still in good shape and smells fresh, try washing it more frequently until the smell goes away so that you can prolong its life as long as possible!
If for some reason this doesn’t work out for you (maybe because of allergies), then just go ahead and buy a new one! Just make sure that when it comes time to get another one they are actually comfortable enough; otherwise they won’t work at all!
How do you sleep?
It’s time to figure out how you sleep. Do you sleep on your side, back, or stomach? Do you toss and turn a lot? If so, then a contoured pillow might be best for you. If not, then maybe a wedge pillow is more suited to your needs.
The next step is figuring out how long it takes to fall asleep. If it’s within five minutes after hitting the sheets (no matter what position), then perhaps a firmer foam-based pillow would be better than softer down-filled options.
Get a pillow that matches your comfort level.
People often have a hard time finding the right pillow to sleep on, because they’re afraid to try different pillows and ask for help.
You can’t just choose any old pillow and call it the perfect one for you. You need a pillow that matches your comfort level. If that means changing your bedding or even swapping out all of your pillows for new ones, then so be it! The point is that you should never settle for second best when it comes to something as important as getting a good night’s rest.
It’s understandable why you might be skeptical about the benefits of changing your pillow for a better night’s sleep. But in reality, doing so can make all the difference in how well you rest and recover from the day’s stresses. And if that doesn’t convince you to invest in new pillows more regularly, I don’t know what will!
