A new client has reached out to me for help with styling his bedroom. Find out how I upgraded his bedroom with these 10 simple recommendations after the break…
This client’s bedroom lacked a lot of everything – necessary bedroom furniture, warmth, personality, style, texture, and character. The first thing that gave me pause was the flags as curtains “UGH”. I rather he used nothing at all, this is a major bachelor pad turn-off. The bedding looks messy, immature and uninviting. Also, the bed is blending with the floor, it needs to show separation.

I created a modern bedroom look by using EDesign that gave this room stylish masculine appeal as well as comfortability.

My recommendations:
1. Change the color of the room by painting it an Ivory color – Elegant Ivory Cream by Glidden.
2. Change the bedding from what he had to a white duvet cover along with white crisp sheets.
3. Buy black out curtains and hang them a few inches above the window (closer to the ceiling).
4. Add side tables on each side of the bed.
5. Bring in stylish lighting and change the ceiling fan from the old fashioned bulky one to a more sleek one.
6. Hang framed artwork on both sides of the window on the wall.
7. Add two accent chairs at the foot of the bed.
8. Incorporate new throw pillows and a throw blanket.
9. Add an area rug to separate the floor and the bed, plus it will bring warmth to the room.
10. Add a potted floor plant in the corner of the room (real or faux).
This is how I upgraded my client’s bedroom with these 10 simple recommendations. The room feels more complete, it also has personality and cohesiveness.
