This new client told me he needs help with his bedroom styling needs. Find out how I upgraded his bedroom with these 8 simple recommendations after the break…

My client’s bedroom was very basic and he wanted a more sophisticated and sultry vibe. He said the furniture was hand-me-down but he actually liked the bed frame, so I had to work around the bed frame. With all the wood matching it made the room flat and the bedding lacked style and plushness.

My recommendations:

1. Create an accent wall by painting the wall behind the bed a dark moody color. – Some Starry Night by Valspar

2. Change the bedding to a white duvet or comforter, along with white sheets and pillowcases.

3. Incorporate two masculine patterned throw pillows, one solid throw pillow, and a throw blanket for a more plush feel.

4. Get rid of the old nightstands and bring in black stylish ones.

5. Buy two statement lamps and place them on each nightstand.

6. Add a leather bench at the foot of the bed.

7. Hang large or extra-large framed artwork 5 to 7 inches above the bed.

8. Add an 8×10 pattern area rug to place under the bed for a layered look.
