Project Alert: Find out how I transformed this theater room from sad to swaggy after the break…
Over the last month, I’ve been working on a project styling a client’s theater room and transforming it into a more comfortable and appealing setting. Let’s get into how I transformed this theater room from sad to swaggy.
Here’s what the theater room looked like before.

The space was flat and lackluster, with bulky brown theater seating and drab neutral color walls, not cozy enough for movie night. I convinced my client to let me modify the entire look of the room by changing the wall color, adding much needed texture and pops of color as well as getting rid of the previous seating.
Here is what the finished room looks like now.

The Transformation:
- I painted the walls a sexy dark gray color – Urbane Bronze by Sherwin Williams
- Replaced the bulky brown theater seating with more modern and sleek fabric seating. (I actually just purchased a sofa and sections of a sectional).
- I added a cool light gray geometric/ honeycomb wallpaper on a section of the wall for an eye-catching focal point.
- I bought in colorful throw pillows, comfy throw blankets to curl up in while watching a movie, and added two leather Moroccan poufs for extra texture. The poufs can also be used for guests to prop up their feet.
- I upgraded the current side tables that he had with more stylish ones to place popcorn, beverages, etc on.
Now the theater room looks and feels more inviting and comfy. Do you think it’s ready for movie night? Leave your thoughts in the comments.
