It is totally ok to have mix-match nightstands in your bedroom, they don’t have to match but they should present symmetry and be similar in color or finish to make them flow in the room.
As you see in the picture the guy that emailed me used 2 side tables and a nightstand, both are similar in height next to the bed and have the same color. They look cohesive and add some personality, the only thing I recommend is to change to bedding, get better throw pillows and standard pillows but the pairing of the side table/nightstand works.
