6 Helpful Houseplant Tips For The Plant Dad

I received a few emails from my post “WHY MEN NEED PLANTS IN THEIR BACHELOR PADS” asking for some houseplant tips. Here are my 6 helpful household tips for the plant dad, find out what they are after the break…

If you just bought your first plant(s) congrats, you are now a plant dad. The biggest struggle is keeping the damn thing from dying. I am not an expert on plants but these things have helped me keep my plants flourishing.

1. Soil Meter 

It tests soil moisture, pH value, and the sunlight level of the plant. It also lets you know when you need to water your plant(s). CLICK HERE

2. Yellow Sticky Traps 

It catches those annoying fungus gnats and fruit flies that will mysteriously appear into your bachelor pad, just stick them in the potted plant(s) and change them out when they get covered with the catches. CLICK HERE

3. Humidifier 

If your home lacks humidity and your plants are drying out, you should get a small humidifier, your plants will thank you. CLICK HERE

4. Planta App 

This is an app you can download on your phone and it will help with plant identification, plant recommendations, care reminders, and step-by-step guides to whatever plant you may have. 

 

5. Neem Oil 

If you notice that you have gnat eggs, soak the soil of your plant(s) and it will kill them safely without harming your plant(s). CLICK HERE

 

6. Name Your Plants & Talk To Them 

I know you heard this before and probably laughed but it’s been known for decades that if you talk to your plants and give them a name they will live longer. They are living things and need attention just like a human. So take some time in the morning and at night to say “Hey, What’s Up, Hello to Spout.

 

Extra Tip: 

If you have more than one plant, place them on a bookcase to give them a home and have them look stylishly organized. Also, place them in sleek and stylish planters.
